Celebrating Propel@YH’s achievements in our 2024-25 Impact Report

4th July 2025

Over the last 12 months, we have worked closely with our partners and have supported 19 innovators, 8 of them from Leeds, through our Propel@YH programme

Propel@YH is Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber’s digital accelerator programme. It provides innovative organisations developing digital health solutions with access to a structured course of support and advice aimed at enabling accelerated company growth and increased market presence.

All the innovations that the programme supports align to the government’s mission to increase economic growth and the three health care shifts it is aiming to drive: hospital to community, analogue to digital and sickness to prevention.

The impacts of Propel@YH this year include:

  • £11.4m investment raised by the innovators during the programme
  • £240k investment made into our local economy through staffing and venue hire
  • 7 of the Propel@YH cohort were funded through the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s Pop Up service
  • 21 products placed in new clinical settings
  • 22 jobs created
  • 3 innovators were successful in their bids to the CPI for funding their governance requirements

Propel@YH has now supported 125 companies from the UK and international territories on their innovation journeys over the course of its first six years. This track record has provided a platform for us to partner with the West Yorkshire Mayor’s Investment Zone to host the West Yorkshire Healthtech accelerator which will see £4.5m invested to expand Propel@YH and support up to 240 businesses over the next four years.

The programme will continue to provide market-leading targeted business support and masterclasses for innovators and will help them to scale into the NHS, attract investment, and contribute to regional economic growth.
